What Should a Community Put in Its Link in Bio?

A community link in bio should answer “what is this, is it for me, what do I do next?” — not display every URL the admin has ever collected. Use this as a checklist, then hide anything that does not help a new member. The longer explanation is in link in bio for communities.

The checklist

• Primary community join button — one obvious next step, labelled for the real platform.
• Short intro — who it is for, in two sentences.
• Start Here — the path for someone new. This is the heart of a community onboarding page.
• FAQs — the questions you already repeat.
• Rules — visible before the first post.
• Events — dates that should not live only in chat history.
• Important links — with a line of context each.
• Sub-group directory — when more than one chat or platform exists.
• Contact — a form or admin email for the leftovers.
• Optional partners — only if they serve members.
• Optional deals — never as the whole page.

Examples by community type

Sports club

Join the club group, training times, kit rules, fixtures, who to contact. Leave out every social profile that does not help a new parent or player.

Parent group

Who can join, term dates, how to request access, the school-year chats, one Start Here. Rules before the first “can I post this?”

Hobby community

What the group is for, beginner resources, events, related chats. A buying-advice FAQ often saves more time than another social link.

Subreddit
