How to Stop Answering the Same Questions in Your Community (Without Being Rude About It)
15 July 2026 · 5 min read
If you admin a community, you already know the loop: someone joins, they ask a question you answered last Tuesday, you type it out again, and you try not to sound annoyed. Being rude doesn't help. Neither does pretending you enjoy it.
Write the answers down once
The questions are not creative. How do I join, is it free, what are the rules, when's the next session, where's the form. Put them on a public FAQ. You are not being cold — you are being kind to the next 200 people who would otherwise wait for a reply.
Point, don't lecture
When the question still arrives, send the page. A short "all of that's here — start with the FAQ" is warmer than a paragraph you've typed 80 times, and it trains the group to look there first. Save the personal reply for things that actually need a human.
Keep a few quick replies
You will still get DMs. Copy-paste answers for the ones that don't deserve a custom essay: the expired invite, the kit list, the term dates. Update them when the facts change, not when you're tired.
Create a public FAQ page for your community

Make the page the welcome, not a buried post
Pinning an FAQ in the chat only works until the next 40 messages bury it. A public page in the group description, bio, or welcome message stays put. New members can catch up without scrolling, and you stay out of the comment thread.
joinour.group is built for this job — FAQs, rules, links and join buttons on one page, sitting alongside your Facebook Group or WhatsApp Community, not replacing it. Create a page if you're ready to stop repeating yourself.
